It is not possible to pay with cash.<\/p><h2>For whom?<\/h2><p>Drivers of passenger cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles or trucks pay per crossing and must check in before the crossing. This check-in also applies to residents of the municipality of Altena with a subscription.<br>For pedestrians, (moped) cyclists and drivers of agricultural vehicles, the crossing remains free. They therefore do not have to check in for a crossing.<\/p><p><strong>Please note: season ticket holders from the municipality of Altena with a season ticket for free crossings for \u20ac100 per calendar year also do not need to check in for a crossing. The type and license plate of the vehicle are also requested.<br>Check-in is as follows:<\/p><ul><li>Scan the QR code or click <a href=\"https:\/\/app.bergschemaasveren.app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> to open the app<\/li><li>Select the ferry you wish to use<\/li><li>Enter the license plate number of your vehicle with which you are making the crossing<\/li><li>Select the &#8216;Next step&#8217; button<\/li><li>Under &#8216;Pay as&#8217;, select the &#8216;Guest (One-time crossing)&#8217; button<\/li><li>Select the crossing<\/li><li>Select the &#8216;Check in &amp; pay&#8217; button<\/li><li>Select the payment method and select the &#8216;Pay&#8217; button<\/li><\/ul><p>You have been checked in after successfully completing the payment at your bank.<\/p><h4>On board with physical credit card<\/h4><p>If you do not have a smartphone or do not wish to use the app, you can purchase a physical credit card.<\/p><p>The purchase price of a credit card is \u20ac30 and includes a balance of \u20ac40, which gives a 25% discount on the rates.<\/p><p>For a crossing with a credit card, you pay the ferry fare at the payment column on the ferry, charged to the credit balance.
